Former Vice President Mike Pence joined 45th President Donald Trump in criticizing the Biden administration’s “disastrous withdrawal” from Afghanistan.

In a tweet Sunday, Pence stressed that the rapid troop withdrawal dishonored the memory and sacrifice of American soldiers who “bravely served there defending freedom these past 20 years.”

His remarks came after Trump issued a blistering statement against Joe Biden, urging him to resign after failing to follow the Afghanistan withdrawal plan laid out by Trump’s administration. The 45th president noted, the U.S.-backed government fell apart after only a brief Taliban offensive.

Pence added, “God bless our troops and our allies in this dark hour.”
