CNN host Chris Cuomo has returned to the network and finally commented on the downfall of his brother. On Monday night, the Prime Time host appeared on air for the first time since New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced his resignation.
Chris explained he “tried to do the right thing” by not getting involved in his brother’s scandal as well as navigating through the “unique” situation of working in the media while being part of a political family.
“It was a unique situation being a brother to a politician in a scandal and being part of the media,” he expressed. “I tried to do the right thing and I just want you all to know that.”
The left-wing talk show host went on to say he urged his brother to resign and added he would no longer be speaking about the matter. However, critics have questioned his complete denial of involvement as it was revealed he acted as an adviser to the governor by going as far as drafting a statement for his brother in response to the allegations.
Meanwhile, the New York State Republican Party has made demands for the impeachment investigation of Gov. Cuomo to resume after New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie announced the Assembly dropped those efforts.
