A manhunt has been underway in Texas for a suspected gunman who shot a sheriff’s deputy. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported Deputy Chip Wood was shot in the chest during a traffic stop near Wichita Falls on Monday night.

Deputy Wood was reportedly hit in his bulletproof vest and has been expected to make a full recovery. Law enforcement officials described the suspect as a white male in his twenties who was driving a four-door white Cadillac, which has been located by Wichita Falls Police.

“To the guy who did this today, you didn’t get my guy,” Clay County Sheriff Jeffrey Lyde stated. “You shot him in the vest. You didn’t get him.”

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a $10,000 reward has been set for information leading to an arrest.
