Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced he has tested negative for COVID-19 after testing positive for the virus last week. In a tweet on Saturday, Abbott said his infection was brief and mild because of the vaccination he received.

“I encourage others who have not yet received the vaccination to consider getting one,” he stated. “My wife also continues to test negative. I will continue to quarantine at the recommendation of doctors.”

Abbott went on to say he would continue to work on opening infusion centers for antibody therapy treatment across Texas.
