The Chinese People’s Liberation Army tested two new types of precision missiles designed to eliminate enemy communication systems. On Saturday, China’s state media reported its Rocket Force successfully tested two short range weapons, which could overcome multi-layer defenses, such as complex electromagnetic inference, to paralyze information facilities hundreds of miles away.

Footage of the missile launch and successful target strikes was broadcasted on China’s state television.

“To improve the rapid response capability, we mainly studied the feasibility of compression of missile weapon technology process,” explained senior engineer Wu Shaomin of the People’s Liberation Army. “Second, we increased the training of our launch unit and improve the operation accuracy of our launch personnel.”

Military experts said the missiles vastly improved the People’s Liberation Army’s combat capabilities and noted their potential for rapid use against both Taiwan and the United States.
