Secretary of State Antony Blinken refuses to admit whether President Joe Biden knows what’s going on in Afghanistan.

When Fox News anchor Chris Wallace point-blank asked Blinken on Sunday, “Does the President not know what’s going on?” Blinken dodged the question to repeat the administration’s rhetoric about the unfurling global crisis.

“This is an incredibly emotional time for many of us and including allies and partners who’ve been shoulder-to-shoulder with us in Afghanistan for 20 years,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Blinken rambled for half a minute before Wallace interrupted and noted that Biden has repeatedly lied when addressing the nation about the withdrawal and seems to be averse to the facts of the situation.

“I’m not questioning whether or not the allies have a right to complain. I’m not questioning whether or not al-Qaeda has a presence,” Wallace explained. “The president said al-Qaeda is gone. It’s not gone. The president said he’s not heard any criticism from the allies. There’s been a lot of criticism from the allies. Words matter and the words of the president matter most.”

Other corporate media outlets have pushed Blinken to face the facts and speak beyond the administration’s talking points, but he has refused.

“This is not just about the overall idea of leaving Afghanistan. This is about leaving hastily and ineptly. Secretary Blinken, how did President Biden get this so wrong?” CNN’s Jake Tapper asked last week.

“On the terms that we went into Afghanistan in the first place, we’ve succeeded in achieving our objectives,” Blinked said, dodging the question to discuss the importance of “context.”

Before Afghanistan fell into the hands of terrorists in just one weekend, Blinken had previously claimed that it would take a while for the Taliban to take over.

“I don’t think it’s going to be something that happens from a Friday to a Monday … I wouldn’t necessarily equate the departure of our forces … with some kind of immediate deterioration in the situation,” he said in June.
