The 45th president announced his endorsement for governor of Massachusetts for the 2022 election. In a statement Tuesday, Trump backed former state representative Geoff Diehl while stressing he’s a true patriot.

Trump noted that Diehl is tough on crime, loves the military and is a proponent of election integrity. The 45th president also lambasted the incumbent GOP governor, Charlie Baker, saying he’s “not an ‘America First’ kind of guy.”

Trump asserted that Baker is undermining the GOP while citing the rampant crime and high energy costs seen during his leadership.
