Pouring millions into marketing, major crypto platform Crypto.com has launched a new global advertising campaign aimed to boost the company’s worldwide recognition, featuring big Hollywood names.
Named “Fortune Favors the Brave,” the campaign stars Oscar-winning actor Matt Damon. It was directed by filmmaker Wally Pfister who won an Academy Award for directing the 2010 action movie Inception, and produced by David Fincher whose credits include serving as an executive producer and director for the hit Netflix series House of Cards.
Since its establishment in 2016, Crypto.com has recruited more than 10m customers across the world, but the new ad campaign is designed to bring the brand’s recognition to even a higher level, highlighting the company’s ethos “while inspiring those who want to change the course of history,” according to a press release.
“The timing of this campaign coincides with the early stages of mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency, something we’ve been hard at work to advance since our founding five years ago,” Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com, was quoted in the statement.
The project’s budget was not disclosed. However, per Bloomberg, the company will spend more than USD 100m on the campaign. Also, as reported, the crypto business recently partnered with Water.org, a global nonprofit organization set up to bring safe water and sanitation to people in need that was co-founded by Damon. Crypto.com has made a USD 1m direct donation to the nonprofit to support its mission, and will pursue initiatives to encourage its customers to support the cause.
“Much like what we’re doing with Water.org, Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency platform that shares my commitment to empowering people around the globe with the tools needed to take control of their futures,” Damon was quoted as saying in the statement.
The campaign is to be featured on multiple platforms and formats. Among others, it will be featured on billboards and on television around the world. It will be integrated across Crypto.com’s portfolio of global sports partnerships that include Formula 1, UFC, French football club Paris Saint-Germain, the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, esports team Fnatic, Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 Team, as well as Italy’s football league Lega Serie A, according to the platform.
