On Monday night, Ohio GOP senate primary candidate J.D. Vance called for Republicans in Congress to refuse to raise the debt ceiling limit until President Joe Biden ends his vaccine mandate.
Vance’s remarks came during the Ohio GOP Senate Forum, a two-hour long event featuring seven Republican candidates vying for the party’s senatorial nomination for next year’s senate race.
“Right now we have a Biden admin that’s forcing a vaccine mandate down people’s throats,” the populist candidate said.
“At the same time, we have a debt limit coming up. Instead of giving them a bipartisan flag to wave, we should shut down the government until the vaccine mandate ends,” he added.

As Daily Wire reported earlier this week that Congress has until Friday, December 4 to raise the debt ceiling limit, or risk a federal shut down:
By midnight on Friday, Congress must fund the federal government — and possibly address a looming debt default — to avoid a government shutdown.
Democratic leaders are attempting to juggle several objectives in the coming days — namely, passing the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better Act, approving the National Defense Authorization Act, and raising or suspending the debt ceiling.
The Daily Wire also noted that the 2022 NDAA in its current form has received harsh criticism from GOP officials for provisions that would require American women over the age of 18 to be registered for the draft:
Meanwhile, the current version of the National Defense Authorization Act — which would fund the Department of Defense in 2022 — has generated controversy due to its potential mandate of a draft for women.
“It is wrong to force our daughters, mothers, wives, and sisters to fight our wars,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) argued earlier this month. “Our country is extremely grateful for the brave women who have volunteered to serve our country with and alongside our fighting forces.”

Vance also noted that “our elites” in Washington, meaning our GOP leaders, are “so dumb” on the issues at hand such as combatting vaccine mandates. The Hillbilly Elegy author remarked that the GOP is constantly being “outplayed” by Democrats. Vance added that “so-long as [Republicans] keep sending people to Washington to get out played by the Democrats, we’re going to keep on losing our country.
In mid-November, in response to a lawsuit led by The Daily Wire, the Biden Administration announced it would be “suspending its rule forcing private employers to vaccinate or COVID-19 test their employees over pending litigation.”
