Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin laid out his vision moving forward. During an interview on Wednesday, the Republican said he wants to make the Old Dominion State the most military-friendly state in America.

The state of Virginia has one of the highest active duty populations in the U.S. with at least 127,000 individuals. Youngkin went on to say the unique challenges that military spouses and families face will no longer be ignored.

“I think families and military spouses are going to see a much different approach from this administration,” he stated. “One of the things we know is they have a substantially different stress on them than a normal family and so we have to support it.”

Youngkin has been meeting with outgoing Governor Ralph Northam to ensure a smooth transfer of power.
