At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the jury for the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp defamation case was expected to give their verdict, but were instead sent back to out to apparently add missing information related to monetary damages by the judge.

“The judge overseeing the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial just sent the jury back to the deliberation room,” reported NewsNation correspondent Markie Martin. “Saying they needed to fill out additional compensatory/punitive damages information before a verdict can be publicly read.”

Notably, Depp was not in the courtroom when the verdict was read.

Court TV legal correspondent Chanley Shá Painter reported Wednesday: “As a source close to Johnny Depp – ‘Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3pm verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom.’”

A spokesperson for Heard subsequently blasted Depp for his absence.

“Your presence shows where your priorities are,” the spokesperson said, CBR.com reported. “Johnny Depp plays guitar in the UK while Amber Heard waits for a verdict in Virginia. Depp is taking his snickering and lack of seriousness on tour.”
