Federal law enforcement officials reportedly opened a gate on private property to allow illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. after Texas National Guard troops locked the gate to deny their entry into the country.
Footage of the shocking incident on the U.S. border was captured by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin and comes as the U.S. continues to be overwhelmed on a monthly basis by large numbers of illegal aliens taking advantage of Democrat President Joe Biden’s weak border enforcement.
“For the first time, we witnessed the TX National Guard close & lock a gate on private property at a major crossing area in Eagle Pass, denying entry to migrants who just crossed illegally & expected to be let in,” Melugin tweeted. “Border Patrol then came w/ a key & let them in for processing.”

“This was the moment Border Patrol arrived with the key and let the migrants in. The landowner allows both TX DPS/National Guard and Border Patrol to work here. The gate has always been left open in the past. TX is now closing it, & migrants have to wait for Border Patrol to be let in,” Melugin reported.

“Border Patrol opening gates etc to allow migrants in is not new,” Melugin added. “They have to process migrants on U.S. soil per federal law. What’s new is TX is now closing the gate & denying entry at this major crossing location. Always open in months past, including this video I shot in May.”

In Arizona, Republican Governor Doug Ducey has taken to Twitter several times this week to show images of state officials plugging holes in the border wall with large shipping containers with barbed wire placed on top.
“Arizona has had enough,” Ducey said in a press release last week on signing an executive order directing the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to immediately fill gaps in the Yuma border wall.
“We can’t wait any longer. The Biden administration’s lack of urgency on border security is a dereliction of duty,” Ducey continued. “For the last two years, Arizona has made every attempt to work with Washington to address the crisis on our border. Time and time again we’ve stepped in to clean up their mess. Arizonans can’t wait any longer for the federal government to deliver on their delayed promises.”
“Our border communities are being used as the entryway to the United States, overwhelming law enforcement, hospitals, nonprofits and residents,” Ducey concluded. “It’s our responsibility to protect our citizens and law enforcement from this unprecedented crisis. With the resources and manpower in the right places, our Border Patrol and law enforcement will be better equipped to do their jobs well and prevent cartels from exploiting our communities. That’s exactly what our barrier mission will do.”
