Former President Donald Trump blamed President Joe Biden for ongoing violence between Israel and Palestinian terrorists on Tuesday.
Trump slammed the sitting president in a statement and also took a shot at Democratic lawmakers, in general, for refusing to condemn anti-Israel comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Omar said Israel’s attempts to defend itself from Hamas were acts “of terrorism.”
“When I was in office we were known as the Peace Presidency, because Israel’s adversaries knew that the United States stood strongly with Israel and there would be swift retribution if Israel was attacked. Under Biden, the world is getting more violent and more unstable because Biden’s weakness and lack of support for Israel is leading to new attacks on our allies,” Trump said in a statement.
“America must always stand with Israel and make clear that the Palestinians must end the violence, terror, and rocket attacks, and make clear that the U.S. will always strongly support Israel’s right to defend itself,” he continued. “Unbelievably, Democrats also continue to stand by crazed anti-American Rep. Ilhan Omar, and others, who savagely attack Israel while they are under terrorist assault.”
Biden has yet to make a public statement on the renewed aggression of the Palestinian terror organization Hamas against Israel. Hamas has so far launched hundreds of missiles against Israel since Monday. While Israel’s Iron Dome defense system has intercepted most of the rockets, some have broken through.
In one instance, a Hamas rocket hit a school, injuring three Israelis. Authorities had earlier ordered the school evacuated due to the Hamas attacks and its position within 25 miles of the Gaza border.
Biden is facing increasing calls to condemn Hamas and publicly support Israel, a longtime U.S. ally.
“Hamas terrorists have resumed attacks on Israel, this time launching rockets at Tel Aviv. President Biden needs to condemn these attacks on Israel in the strongest terms and unequivocally support Israel’s right to defend itself against acts of terror,” Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) said Tuesday.

Rep. Elise Stefanik( R-NY) added: “The United States stands with Israel. Joe Biden’s silence is deafening and inexcusable.”

Israel had a strained relationship with the United States during former President Barack Obama’s administration, in which Biden served as vice president. The Obama administration was behind a series of leaks of Israeli military information to influence Israel’s actions. That strained relationship appears to have been renewed under Biden.
Over the weekend, Israel pushed the White House to stay out of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, fearing that President Joe Biden’s involvement would make the situation worse. As The Daily Wire reported:
Biden’s national security advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with his Israeli counterpart, Meir Ben-Shabbat, after hundreds of Palestinian rioters clashed with Israeli police Monday morning on the Temple Mount. During the conversation, Ben-Shabbat told Sullivan that Biden and other countries should let Israel handle the conflict, according to Axios.
Ben-Shabbat told Sullivan that “international intervention is a reward to the Palestinian rioters and those who back them who were seeking international pressure on Israel,” an Israeli official told Axios.
