Joe Biden’s coronavirus relief plan prioritizes minority communities first. According to reports on Tuesday, Biden’s ‘American Rescue Plan’ is opening up the application process for restaurant and business owners to apply for federal relief for lost revenue during the pandemic.

Applicants eligible for the relief funds first have to be identified as socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Back in January, Biden confirmed his main focus was to only help specific race groups and not the whole country.

“Our focus will be on small businesses on Main Street that aren’t wealthy and well-connected, that are facing real economic hardships through no fault of their own,” Biden claimed. “Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian and Native American owned small-businesses, women-owned businesses.”

Critics are pointing out how the Trump administration delivered funds to businesses based on the amount of revenue lost and not on race.
