Despite placing 3 conservatives justices on the Supreme Court, former President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment in their rulings to date, calling them “gutless” for “punting” on the presidential election cases.
“I appointed 3 justices of the Supreme Court, and let’s see how they turn out,” Trump told “The Dan Bongino Show” in an interview that aired Wednesday, talking about Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.
“They didn’t come through on the election. All they had to do on the election is they had to hear the case, and they didn’t. They didn’t come through on the election – not even close to coming through.
“It was a disgrace what they did. They punted.”
Trump blasted Democrats for circumventing state legislatures in making election laws under the guise of COVID-19, and said the Supreme Court should have weighed in for the “unconstitutional” election processes put in place by Democrat activists and leaders in key battlegrounds.
“The only changes can be made through the state legislatures,” Trump added to Bongino. “And the Supreme Court said we’re going to punt, because they didn’t want to make the tough decision.
“They had no courage on the election; they were gutless, and I am very, very saddened by it and so is the country,” he added. “They didn’t want to take it on, and it was an issue so simple.”
Trump is also blasting Democrats for challenging the forensic audit in Arizona.
“The Democrats sent, I heard, 103 lawyers to try and stop it,” Trump said. “If the election is honest, they’re not going to be sending 103 lawyers. What do they have to hide?”
Trump said Democrats should support investigations into the integrity of elections they claim was free and fair, adding: “They should want it, because it ends all this stuff” about election fraud.
“It was a totally crooked election,” Trump said. “The whole 2020 election was crooked.”
As for his future plans to run again, claiming he would run to win a “third time,” Trump noted the best time to announce a 2024 presidential run would be after the 2022 midterm elections, no matter how they turn out.
“I could do it sooner, but I think right after the [2022] election would be good, especially if you have a good election,” Trump said, before adding even a bad GOP result in 2022 might lift Republican hopes for 2024.
“Now, I’m not sure if you didn’t have a good election [in 2022], that would not be good also, if you want to know the truth.”
But, first Trump said he will focus on endorsements for the 2022 midterm primaries and races to try to regain the majorities in the House and Senate.
“My endorsement means victory,” Trump said, claiming a “128-2” record on his endorsements and noting the 2 were longshots done “out of loyalty.”
As for his GOP presidential challengers for 2024, Trump said forget about RINO Gov. Larry Hogan in Maryland, a frequent Trump critic.
“He’s a total loser,” Trump told Bongino, adding, “I would give him a less than 0% chance” if he ran for president.
