Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said Wednesday he will support the Republican nominee for president including if it is Donald Trump.
“Absolutely. I’m going to support the nominee. Again, I worked very hard for the president. I think his ideas…will be part of our party for a long time into the future,” Kemp said on Fox News. “And Republicans, we need to have a big tent. I mean, there’s a lot of great ideas out there. We’re not always going to get along. But I think the president deserved a lot of credit and he’s not going away.”
The statement comes after Trump severely criticized Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger over the state’s election integrity and results, including the former president calling Kemp a fool and for him to resign.
