A group of Republican lawmakers have challenged the Biden administration for being too soft on China. On Monday, representatives Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) and Rob Wittman (R-Va.) argued Biden has only given vague threats and cheap talk about standing up to Communist China.
The two Republicans insisted Biden has failed to hold Beijing accountable for its handling of COVID-19. Together, they highlighted their bill titled the World Deserves To Know Act, which would impose Russian-style sanctions on top Communist Party officials.
As the leader of the free world, the U.S. must hold Chinese Communist Party officials accountable for their actions.

Wittman went on to assert China’s economy has been heavily reliant on other countries and the time has come to sever those ties.
“Are they going to allow an open and transparent, independent evaluation? If they do, that will avoid sanctions,” he explained. “I want to make sure too that we ban any dollars from United States going to the Chinese National Health Commission.”
Wittman and Stefanik added Biden has proven unable to punish China for COVID-19 and Congress must take the matter into its own hands.
