Officials have said the number of illegal aliens caught on trains in Texas have shot up nearly one thousand percent from last year.

Customs and Border Protection said they have apprehended over three thousand illegal immigrants on just one train route alone from Eagle Pass, which is located along the Texas-Mexico border to San Antonio. This increase comes as under 400 were reported last year.

Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced Texas will take matters into its own hands by constructing a state border wall and directly addressing the issue in the state.

“Homes are being invaded. Neighborhoods are dangerous, and people are being threatened on a daily basis with guns,” stated Abbott. “People either coming across the border or those working with those who are coming across the border. In the federal government’s absence, Texas is stepping up to get the job done.”

In the meantime, Kamala Harris is scheduled to make her first trip to the border on Friday.
