(Reuters) – McDonald’s Corp said on Thursday it will expand the test of the plant-based McPlant burger which it created with vegan meat maker Beyond Meat Inc.
McDonald’s will start offering the burger at around 600 locations in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas starting February 14, the company said, sending shares of Beyond Meat up about 6% premarket.
The company had initially tested the burger in eight U.S. locations in November.
