Within the the EU’s war against money laundering (AML) and tax evasion, the European Commission (EC) is eyeing a European Union Asset Registry, and has recently launched a tender for a feasibility study of such a register - which will investigate the possibility of including cryptocurrencies owned by the citizens of the EU’s member states in a register as well.

The troubled crypto lending and borrowing company Celsius (CEL), which on Monday halted withdrawals due to “extreme market conditions,” is adding more collateral for a loan on the MakerDAO (MKR) decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol to avoid liquidation. Police in Norway have issued a warning to crypto owners, saying they should take measures to ensure their own security with things like multi-signature (multisig) solutions and alarm systems. The warning comes after a couple in Sweden in late April were assaulted and forced to hand over crypto worth a “significant” amount of money.
