The digital asset platform Fireblocks is partnering with the US-based publicly listed fintech firm FIS to bring a range of new enterprise-grade solutions from the world of decentralized finance (DeFi) and crypto trading and staking to its client base, the two companies announced today.

Travel industry player Maps.me has taken the DeFi plunge with a USD 50 million fundraising effort it has described as “an investment into the embedded DeFi ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, across the border in Argentina, a city says that it will accept tax payments made using USD-pegged stablecoins – while the capital Buenos Aires also wants to get in on the action.

The United States Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and its Chairman Gary Gensler have received a slew of letters from pressure groups and parliamentarians voicing their concerns about proposed amendments to the Exchange Act, established in the 1930s. The agency plans to expand the legal definition of what an exchange is.
