Actress Kaley Cuoco revealed last week that she staged an intervention for herself following her divorce in September 2021 from professional equestrian Karl Cook.

Cuoco detailed the emotional and physical manifestation of stress she endured from the painful split with Cook, which coincided with the filming of season two of hit show “The Flight Attendant.” This was the actress’ second divorce; she filed for divorce from her first husband, Ryan Sweeting, back in 2015, after just 21 months of marriage.

“Going through my divorce, it was really a super dark time,” the 36-year-old told Variety. “I just didn’t know how to deal with it. I was throwing myself into work to deny my depression, and how upset I was. Unfortunately, the character was so depressed that it wasn’t helping me! I was really, really, really struggling. A lot of tears.”

Cuoco said that she started going to therapy at the start of shooting season two, “just because I was going through so much.”

“It was horrible,” she revealed. “And I developed a stress rash that ran all the way down my body for three straight months that wouldn’t go away. I literally, like, had fire on my leg for three months. I could barely walk.”

“The Big Bang Theory” actress told Variety she’s been open about seeking therapy  because she “wanted people to know that things just aren’t always what they seem. And things aren’t always so perfect.”

The TV star even staged an intervention for herself so she could ask for help, she said.

“One month in, I had an intervention on myself in my trailer — all my producers were in there,” she recalled. “And I said, ‘I need help.’ It was interesting to say that out loud. And to have everyone be like, ‘Yes, we want to help!’”

“I’m a working woman, and so independent, and I really take pride in being able to do everything,” Cuoco added. “Well, this time, I literally couldn’t.”

Things got so bad, Cuoco also asked her “Flight Attendant” co-star Zosia Mamet to move into her home.

“I really needed someone with me. I was really losing my mind. And then so many of these scenes were so hard to do because they were so hateful, so sad, and so dark, and there wasn’t a lot of levity,” she said. “Like, it was the loneliest I’ve ever felt, and I am not really someone to share that.”

Earlier this year, Cuoco told Glamour magazine she was done with the institution of marriage.

“I will never get married again,” she said, The Daily Wire reported. “Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover.”

“I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership,” Cuoco added. “I believe in love because I’ve had incredible relationships. I know that they’re out there. I like being someone’s partner and having that companionship.”
