Britney Spears’ new husband Sam Asghari has inserted himself into the raging drama, claiming that the pop star’s ex-husband Kevin Federline is only lashing out because he won’t be getting child support payments soon.
The saga began when Federline granted a rare interview with ITV News. During the conversation, the father and guardian of Spears’ two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, alleged that the teens chose not to see their mother due in part to racy photos she shares on Instagram.
“My wife has never posted a nude selfie except of her butt [which] is quite modest these days,” Sam posted to his Instagram Story over the weekend, per E! News. “All other posts were implied nudity [which] can be seen in any ad for lotion or soap.”
“There is no validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly,” he continued.
Next, Asghari, who tied the knot with Spears in June, implied that Federline was making the statements because he would soon be getting cut off from child support payments.
“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years,” Asghari wrote. “Kevin’s gravy train will end soon [which] probably explains the timing of these hurtful statements.”
The 44-year-old former backup dancer has had 70% custody of the two boys since 2018, per E! News.
Asghari was responding to Federline’s harsh words for his ex-wife during the interview.
“This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else,” Federline said, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.”
Spears shot back against her ex on social media.
“It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children … As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone,” the 40-year-old performer shared to Instagram. “It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … it was LONG before Instagram.”
“I gave them everything,” she continued. “Only one word: HURTFUL … I’ll say it … My mother told me ‘You should GIVE them to their dad’ … I’m sharing this because I can … Have a good day folks!!!”
