Cardi B insists she was just joking around when she urged partygoers to “turn the f*** up” and “take a line” while partying after the Met Gala Monday night.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper reacted to backlash following her comments, insisting she’s always getting into trouble with media and fans and wishes she could return to anonymity.

The singer, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, turned heads while walking the red carpet in a gold Versace dress. Later she was caught on camera trying to get the party started by encouraging everyone to get hyped with alcohol and cocaine.

According to Page Six, Cardi stood on top of the bar of the Standard and told the crowd, “Take a shot right now, everybody take a line.”

A video clip revealed the “WAP” singer saying, “Make sure you got your drinks, make sure y’all do your little [lines]. Whatever the f*** you have to do. We got to turn the f*** up. I want everybody dancing!”

Some people weren’t pleased with these comments, which led Cardi B to do an Instagram Live to defend herself. That’s when she explained the whole thing was a “joke.”

The singer went on to describe herself as the celebrity “that always be in the principal’s office.”

“Fame has turned me into a prisoner,” she said. “I make one joke as a hostess because I am hosting a party and it gets twisted. Why can’t every celebrity joke around and say slick s***?”

“I’m tired. I can’t be myself anymore,” Cardi B continued. “Anything that will go on social media is always bad. If I could click my f***ing feet three times and go back to f***ing 2013 when I was just a regular b****, dancing and making money every single night, that is where I want to be. That’s when I was me.”

Prior to becoming famous, the “I Like It” rapper worked as a stripper and is proud of that past.

There was also alleged drama between Cardi B and singer Billie Eilish that the rapper says was not true.

In the clip where Cardi tells the crowd to do cocaine, Eilish can be seen turning to a friend and saying, “…so weird.” The two performers addressed what happened via social media, according to Billboard.

“Oh my god I was so worried that you were going to see that. I was f***ing calling the people around you weird because everybody was coming up to you and shoving your their phones into your a**! And I was  like, ‘Just look at her with your eyes!’” Eilish says in an audio clip.

Cardi B replies, “The internet is trying to divide us. They don’t understand you’re my baby.”

“I hate the internet cause one, how do y’all turn one of the most lit parties into drama?” the “Bodak Yellow” singer put in the caption. “Two, Ocean Eyes is the song I cater to my daughter. Three, Billie is my f***in baby. Yesterday, from the Met to the party, everything was drama free. Why do y’all wanna turn everything into mess?”
