Gun control advocate Bette Midler sent out a tweet to her more than two million followers to “come armed” and protest a National Rifle Association conference in Texas the weekend following the mass shooting in Uvalde.

The 76-year-old actress’s tweet comes after an 18-year-old went to an elementary school and opened fire, killing 19 children and two teachers before he was stopped. Midler’s Twitter feed is filled with one post after another blaming Republicans and slamming gun owners.

“AT THE GEORGE R BROWN CONVENTION CENTER IN HOUSTON TEXAS, THIS WEEKEND,” Milder tweeted Wednesday.”Come armed.” Her post was in response to a tweet from a person that read, “PEOPLE SHOULD SHOW UP AND PROTEST AT THIS CONFERENCE.”

She also called for a January 6-like action at the conference, an act she has roundly condemned numerous times, asking for protestors to give them a taste of their “own medicine.”

In one of her earlier posts, the “Beaches” star called on New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer to “bring the #ExpandedBradyBackgroundChecksBill to the Senate floor, a bill 90% of Americans want you to pass. We are sick of gun violence; it’s a public health crisis, and the ball is in your court. If it does not withstand the filibuster, #ENDTHEFILIBUSTER.”

“The Bill is called HR 8; it has been sitting there for two years! Bring it to the floor, you contemptible, wretched, worthless excuses for #Americans and #Senators,” she added in a second tweet. “And pass it! You are a disgrace to your country, your community and your constituents.”

“And here you have it: loosening gun control laws by the #SupremeCourt, #Congress and #StateLegislatures!” Midler continued in another tweet. “It’s a conspiracy to kill us all!”

Midler later tweeted another comment about how she didn’t fear “invaders from beyond the seas” because we as a nation “are committing national suicide.”
