Meghan Markle is the one who made Kate Middleton “burst into tears” during a bridesmaid’s dress fitting before the actress’ wedding to Prince Harry, a royal biographer claims in his new book, “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.”

The British author, Tom Bower, claimed in his book out Thursday that it was reportedly the Duchess of Sussex who upset the Duchess of Cambridge during a fitting of the flower girls’ dresses before the royal wedding and not the other way around, the Daily Mail reported.

Bower said that unnamed sources told him it was Middleton who “burst into tears” and not Markle that day. The author writes, “some would say that Meghan compared Ivy favorably against [Princess] Charlotte” when she compared Middleton’s daughter to her best friend Jessica Mulroney’s daughter. It reportedly happened while the duchesses were allegedly arguing over the length of Charlotte’s dress hemline. Kate felt it was “too short” and it “did not fit.” The two also reportedly didn’t agree with whether it was necessary for the bridesmaids to “wear tights” to the wedding. Middleton felt they should in order to go along with protocol.

“Meghan’s insistence was supported by Jessica, the mother of Ivy,” Bower wrote.

In the initial version of the story that leaked in 2018, it was rumored that Markle made the Duchess of Cambridge cry. However, the Duchess of Sussex later shut down those claims in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey and said that “the reverse happened,” as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something, pertaining, yes, the issue was correct about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings,” Markle shared.

“I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone because it was a really hard week of the wedding and she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized,” she added.

“And she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing,” the duchess continued. “And she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right, to just take accountability for it.”

The outlet noted that unnamed sources told the author the duchesses continued to disagree.

On Good Morning Britain, the author admitted that all his sources were people who don’t like Meghan because he said she told “all her friends and people who work for her not to talk to me,” the Daily Mail noted. He also insisted his biography was “unbiased,” that he “never put in stuff that isn’t true and can’t be checked.”
