Pete Davidson is reportedly in trauma therapy over taunts from Kanye West, who was married to Kim Kardashian for nearly seven years before she hooked up with the “Saturday Night Live” alum.
West and Davidson have traded words both publicly and privately since Kardashian and the comedian were publicly linked. Most recently, West celebrated the couple’s demise in a post that said, “Skete Davidson Dead at Age 28” — referring to the nickname the recording artist gave his foe.
“The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Davidson] and he’s had to seek out help,” a source told People magazine.
Davidson “has been in trauma therapy” since April, “in large part” due to his beef with West, the source said.
“The King of Staten Island” star, though, “has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she’s been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship,” the source added, noting that the 28-year-old “just wants to focus on his career.”
Page Six reported Friday that Davidson and Kardashian ended their romantic relationship after nine months.
“Kim and Pete have decided to just be friends,” a source close to Kardashian said. “They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”
Soon after the news broke, West shared a fake photo of a New York Times headline declaring, “Skete Davidson Dead At Age 28″.
Notably, text messages leaked in March appeared to show Davidson taunting West, allegedly from the bed of Kardashian.
“I’ve decided I’m not gonna let you treat us like this anymore and I’m done being quiet.” Davidson said in the text exchange to West. “Grow the f*** up.”
When West asked where Davidson was, the actor responded, “In bed with your wife.” He added a photo of himself in a bed with his tongue out and flashing a peace sign.
“Happy to see you’re out of the hospital and rehab,” West reacted.
“I’m in [Los Angeles] for the day if you wanna stop being a little internet b**** boy and talk… You don’t scare me bro. [Your] actions are so p**** and embarrassing. It’s so sad to watch you ruin your legacy on the daily,” Davidson later texted West.
“You’re more than welcome to come to Sunday Service,” West answered.
