Disney actress Natasha Ward found herself under fire after she said it was simply “make believe” pretending that trans women aren’t violating the rights of biological women when it comes to sports.

“Supporting #transfreedom does not mean it’s ok to violate the rights of biological #women,” the star of “Station 19” wrote on her Instagram account, which is set to private, reported the Washington Examiner.

“Pretending that trans women are not men who have a biological advantage and therefore place an undue burden on biological women is make believe and it is not science nor fact,” her message added, per the outlet. “When ‘your truth’ trumps ‘THE TRUTH’ and forces me to pretend that it’s not a lie we have a very real problem.”

The actress’ comments were screenshot and posted on social media, with some calling for her to be fired after she suggested the need for a real “conversation” regarding the advantages that biological males have over biological women.

One person on Twitter wrote, “Natasha ward deserves to be held accountable for what she’s said about trans women. You can’t have a show [and] cast that celebrates diversity whilst having a known transphobe in the cast. do better station 19. please do what you must.”

“If Natasha ward doesn’t get fired all of us are gonna [do] it ourselves #station19,” wrote another person, according to the outlet.

A third person wrote, “What is wrong with you #NatashaWard this is just downright degrading to trans women. Nobody is taking away cos womens [sic] rights by being trans. I don’t feel violated. this is basically saying that trans women aren’t real women. you might want to get rid of her.”

Wards’ comments were similar to ones made by reality star Caitlyn Jenner about Penn swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male who recently crushed the female competitors during the NCAA championship and came in first place in the women’s 500-yard freestyle event.

“I don’t think biological boys should compete in women’s sports – we have to protect women’s sports … that’s the bottom line,” Jenner explained, reported the Daily Mail.

“I don’t see how you can be happy beating other girls under these circumstances,” Jenner added. “You have to have a sense of personal responsibility. You can still enjoy sports but not play at a competitive level, right?”

As reported by The Daily Wire, Thomas, who previously competed against males before identifying as a woman, was greeted by cheers from onlookers at the recent competition:

Onlookers cheered Thursday evening as a biological man who identifies as a transgender woman annihilated female competitors in a collegiate race.

University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas clocked in at 4:33:24, finishing first in the NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship 500-yard freestyle.

The University of Virginia’s Emma Weyant, a freshman, finished second with 4 minutes 34 seconds and 99 milliseconds, dropping 2 seconds and 26 milliseconds from her previous time.

Erica Sullivan, a freshman from the University of Texas, finished third at 4 minutes, 35 seconds, and 92 milliseconds.
