Rapper Post Malone said he found himself in some “dark” times and credits his unnamed fiancée with saving “my f***ing life” as he battled an alcohol addiction.
During the 26-year-old singer’s appearance on Sirius XM’s “The Howard Stern Show,” Malone talked about how he went from being this performer who was on top of his game to being unable to get up off the “floor for weeks” as he struggled with alcohol abuse, People magazine reported in a piece published Wednesday.
The “Rockstar” hitmaker didn’t name his fiancée, but credited her with making him feel “like a human being again,” calling it “epic,” and more.
“I am responsible now,” the “Circles” singer shared when asked if he was sober now. “It was to a really rough point, and I couldn’t get up off the floor for weeks.”

The rapper, born Austin Post, opened up about his drink of choice, which he said were “screwdrivers,” as well as “vodka, and it was bodying fifths and trying to hang in there and talking to people who weren’t f***ing there.”
“I just have super beautiful people around me, and I met a really beautiful person that made me feel like a human being again,” Malone shared about his fiancée. “It’s the guidance out of the dark into the light. … She saved my f***ing life — it’s pretty epic.”
The superstar rapper also noted how one of the pop singer’s he collaborated with, Justin Bieber, also helped him get out of his rough times, but that ultimately, he had to do it his way.
“There was a time to where I had so much guidance and Justin [Bieber] was guiding me … [but] at the end of the day I have to do what I want to do, and that’s what I’m going to do,” Post shared.
“Because people can look at you from the outside and see that something’s wrong, and you can be trapped in your own f***ing world,” he added. “I need to do a lot less talking and a lot more listening. … I’m 26 and I’m learning every f***ing day.”
At one point in the interview, he also talked about how his fiancée and him recently welcomed a little girl into their family.
“That’s been on the QT [quiet] though?” Stern asked after the rapper talked about how he had “kissed” his “baby girl” before recently heading to the recording studio.
“We didn’t know you had a daughter, right?” the host repeated, and got a confirmation about the child’s birth from the rapper himself.
