Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, and other celebrities shared posts on social media declaring that the “Fourth of July” was “canceled” due to a “shortage of independence” for women in response to Roe V. Wade being overturned.

Perry, a 37-year-old singer, posted a message on Twitter to her 100 million-plus followers Monday using a line from one of her biggest hits, “Firework,” to rage about the recent decision by the United States Supreme Court.

The ruling recognizes that there is no constitutional right to an abortion and returns the issue to the states, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“Baby you’re a firework’ is a 10, but women in the U.S. have fewer rights than an actual sparkler smh,” Perry tweeted.

Both Kim and Kourtney Kardashian shared a similar message with their hundreds of millions of followers on their Instagram Stories on Independence Day that read, “4th of July has been canceled due to a shortage of independence. Sincerely, Women.”

Outspoken, leftist celebrities like Bette Midler shared the same meme with her two million-plus followers.

Actress Jessica Chastain tweeted a selfie showing her flipping the bird with a message that read, “Happy ‘Independence’ Day from me and my reproductive rights.”

Their sentiments followed numerous posts from celebrities like Amy Schumer and Chelsea Handler following the SCOTUS decision, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

Schumer shared a message on Instagram with her almost 12 million followers that read: “Are you ready to fight back when Roe is overturned?” The image included a phone number to text, and she captioned her post with nearly a dozen emoji faces depicting an open mouth vomiting.

Handler shared a screenshot of a tweet with her millions of followers that read: “3 Supreme Court justices were placed on the bench by a twice impeached president who did not win the popular vote and who led an insurrection. Our democracy is crumbling before our eyes. Wake up, fight back, no justice no peace!”

Others in Hollywood who have had similar over-the-top reactions since the decision was announced include Patton Oswalt, Ellen DeGeneres, and many more.
