“Walker” star Jared Padalecki gave fans an update after his “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles shared how the actor was “lucky to be alive” following what he called a “very bad car accident” earlier this week.

The 39-year-old actor shared the good news that he’s on “the mend” in a message he posted Tuesday on Instagram where he thanked his fans for all their support following his car accident. The crash was revealed by Ackles at a fan event in New Jersey, reported The Hollywood Reporter in a recent piece.

“Hey y’all!” the star of the CW western series captioned his post on social media. “I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love. I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week.”

“I’m so lucky to have had the best care and be surrounded by people who love me,” he added. “So grateful for everyone#SPNFamily #WalkerFamily #akf.”

At the fan conference, Padalecki’s 44-year-old co-star told the crowd that the star was in a “very bad” crash.

“I don’t know if you guys know what’s going on,” Ackles shared. “He was in a very bad car accident. He wasn’t driving, he was in the passenger seat, and he’s lucky to be alive.”

“And not only that, but he’s at home recovering which — the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car,” the “Supernatural” star added, as he shared that his onscreen brothers’ car “airbag packs a punch” and that Padalecki said after the accident that he felt like he had “gone 12 rounds with [Mike] Tyson.”

Ackles and Padalecki played brothers on the hit “Supernatural” series from 2005-2006 (on the WB) and from 2006-2020 on The CW.

Earlier this week, another “Supernatural” actor, Misha Collins, made headlines after he accidentally came out as “bisexual” — then later apologized for it and admitted he’s “straight,” promising to be a “better ally” to the “LGBTQIA+ community.”

Collins made the initial comments about his sexuality at the Creation Entertainment’s Supernatural Official Convention in East Brunswick, New Jersey, reported People magazine. In a video shared on Twitter, the 47-year-old actor asked the crowd, “By a show of force, how many of you would consider yourself introverts? How many extroverts? And how many bisexuals?”

He then replied, “I’m all three.” Later, he posted a lengthy message on Twitter clarifying he was in fact not coming out as “bisexual,” and was in fact “straight.”

“At a fan convention in New Jersey, when I was talking with the audience I said that I was ‘all three’ things: an introvert, an extrovert and a bisexual,” the actor tweeted. “My clumsy intention was to wave off actually discussing my sexuality, but I badly fumbled that and understand that was seen as me coming out as bisexual.”

“This was not my intention so I need to correct the record: I am not bisexual,” he added. “I happen to be straight, but I am also a fierce ally and the last thing I want to do is falsely co-opt the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe and fully support that we need to sanctify the human right to express our identities honestly and to be free to love whomever we choose openly.”

“I am deeply sorry for the clumsiness of my language,” Collins continued. “I want to be a better ally and I feel sick to my stomach that I might have done anything to make things worse. I’m trying to learn, trying to do better and I will keep listening. Thanks and I’m sorry.”
