A left-leaning political action committee sought to place an advertisement featuring the Jan. 6 Capitol riot on Fox News, throwing hundreds of thousands toward the initiative, but the media outlet turned it down.
Meidas Touch, which bills itself as “a progressive, next-generation SuperPAC” media company, spent $184,854 on a television ad. The ad included videos of the riot and rebuked the GOP for supposedly “downplay[ing] what happened,” titling the ad, “GOP Betrayed America.”
Fox News turned down the large sum of money, instructing the group that the Jan. 6 fear-porn would not be permitted to air. Law enforcement is depicted in the video, as well as CNN host Don Lemon. At the end of the minute-long ad, the words “The GOP Betrayed America” are shown, followed by “We Will Never Forget.”

The organization’s co-founder Ben Meiselas told the Los Angeles Times that “What Fox has really become is a fascist echo chamber gatekeeper for their base,” neglecting that the outlet is not mandated to air its propaganda. The ad would have aired from June 6 to June 15.
Republican lawmakers have universally condemned the Capitol riot. On the flip-side, Democrats and left-leaning outlets claimed the summer of rage’s $1 billion to $2 billion worth of damages was “mostly peaceful.”
While Meidas Touch claims Fox News has not previously declined to air one of its advertisements, a spokeswoman for Fox told The Federalist this is a false claim and that the network has turned down its offers in the past.
