Social media was on fire Sunday night during the Super Bowl, but not because of the action on the field. Rather, viewers were irate over the fact that celebrities and fans enjoyed the evening mask-free in Los Angeles County while school children in the city of Los Angeles are still forced to wear masks all day in class.

One person who called out the disconnect was musician David Foster’s daughter, Sara Foster. The 41-year-old mother of two pointed out what so many others noticed, slamming celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Charlize Theron, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and many others for failing to mask up when they’ve been vocal advocates of masking.

Even Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti (D) was caught chatting without his mask at the game. The city’s public school district, meanwhile, continues to enforce masking, purportedly at the behest of county guidance.

“Attn Los Angeles law makers: you guys are a f***ing joke,” Foster wrote in the caption of her Instagram stories, Fox News reported. “While 100,000 people enjoyed the super bowl unmasked in our city, our children will have a very different experience in school tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow they will be masked ALL day: they will be masked while they run outside in 80 degrees sweating during PE,” the “90210” actress continued. “I am born and raised in la and have never been more disgusted and ashamed of this place and the MORONS running it.”

She didn’t hold back on her true feelings about the hypocrisy of local officials and Hollywood celebrities, almost all of whom have declined to use their platforms to advocate against mandatory masking in schools.

“Very exciting, the Rams won, fantastic, great super bowl halftime show, loved every second, best halftime show I’ve ever seen,” Foster said. “But all I can think about is that our children will go to school tomorrow masked indoors, outdoors when they are running in PE sweating, having a hard time catching their breath. They’re masked. If they take it down, they get yelled at. They’ve never seen their teachers’ faces.”

“We as parents are not allowed to go on campus,” she went on. “I’ve never met the teachers of my kindergarten student. I don’t know what her classroom looks like. I can’t go there when she does her presentations. But we hosted a Super Bowl with a hundred thousand unmasked people. I didn’t see anyone wearing a mask in Los Angeles.”

“We are hosting a f***ing Super Bowl here in a state of emergency,” Foster said in conclusion, echoing what so many other parents were saying online. “Lift the state of emergency, get your sh** together and get the masks off our f***ing kids.”

According to Fox News, Foster also shared a comment from a viewer which said, “I was at the super bowl today they did NOT check for a negative test or vax card and zero masks. So yes it’s sick kids are not free to do the same.”

According to ESPN, the NFL had guidelines in place asking spectators to wear masks except while eating or drinking.

James Butts, the mayor of Inglewood, the city within Los Angeles County where the game was hosted, admitted that enforcing the mask rule would be difficult, but said he trusted spectators to follow the guidelines.

“You can’t force everybody to wear a mask all the time,” he said, according to ESPN. “In the end, it’s the responsibility of the people to take care of themselves, their families and their friends. And that’s the simplest way I can put it.”
