Some of the best grassroots campaigns happen on Twitter.
On Sunday, YouTube commentator Tim Pool put out a query via tweet. He said: “Should I buy a billboard in times Square saying Taylor Lorenz doxxed @libsoftiktok…I wouldn’t care if they just owned it but the gaslighting deserves a proper rebuttal.”
Plenty of Pool’s followers responded but one of the more intriguing replies came from Jeremy Boreing, who is co-CEO of The Daily Wire. He wrote, “Yes. Do it. I’m good for half.”
None of this was in jest. On Tuesday, Pool shared a video of actual billboard in Time Square.
“The Washington Post and Taylor Lorenz Doxxed @libsoftiktok. They included a link to private work details and an address listed as Libs’ private home. They lied about it so I got an ad in Times Square calling them out. Thanks to @JeremyDBoreing for the assist,” the caption read.
The billboard reads, “Hey WaPo, democracy dies in darkness, that’s why we’re shining a light on you.”

Lorenz responded to the ad on Twitter.
“Tim Pool and the CEO of the Daily Wire took out a giant billboard in Times Square today in an attempt to discredit my reporting on Libs of TikTok,” the WaPo writer shared alongside a link to her article. She limited replies to those she follows or mentioned.
Libs of TikTok also retweeted Pool’s video, reacting with a succinct, “OMG.”
Earlier in April, Lorenz revealed personal information about the person who runs Libs of TikTok including her name and an address associated with a real estate license in her name. Lorenz later disputed claims about her sharing the information and the publication removed the link.
“Taylor Lorenz is a diligent and accomplished journalist whose reporting methods comport entirely with the Washington Post’s professional standards,” Cameron Barr, senior managing editor at the Post said in a statement reacting to the backlash online.
She also claimed the paper “did not publish or link to any details about [the creator’s] personal life.”
Meanwhile, this wasn’t the first time Boreing used billboards to troll adversaries. Jeremy’s Razors also put up advertisements for the new company, which was started to intentionally compete with Harry’s after they pulled their advertisements from The Daily Wire in 2021 over “inexcusable” comments made by a Daily Wire host about gender identity.
The Jeremy’s Razors ads were positioned directly across the street from Harry’s headquarters in New York City.
“It must be a breathe of fresh air to walk out of the @harrys HQ to see that beautiful salt and pepper beard,” Jeremy’s Razors tweeted after the ads went up.
Jeremy’s Razors shared in a press release that the company “will begin accepting pre-orders for shaving kits today that customers can expect to be delivered by Father’s Day.” Pre-orders are available at ihateharrys.com.
