President Joe Biden has been vicious to the unvaccinated. Sure, “My Body, My Choice” is deployed by Biden and other Democrats to advocate for abortion, but when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine, uh, not so much.

“For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm,” Biden said last week.

“This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Biden said back in September during an address to the nation. “And it’s caused by the fact that despite America having an unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months free vaccines have been available in 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.”

But Vice President Kamala Harris has a different take. She hasn’t been quick to blame the unvaccinated for the recent spike of cases in the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I don’t think this is a moment to talk about fault,” Harris said Monday during an interview with CBS News. “It is no one’s fault that this virus hit our shores or hit the world. … It is more about individual power and responsibility and the decisions that everyone has the choice to make.”

Harris talked about the “power” Americans have when battling COVID-19.

“We have the power today to go out and if you’ve not been boosted, go get boosted. The power today to go and get vaccinated,” Harris said. “And that will have an impact on where we end up tomorrow.”

More than 200 million Americans are fully vaccinated, meaning they’ve taken two doses of a vaccine, according to Our World In Data. But that’s only 61% of the U.S. population (while another 12% have taken one shot).

While Biden says his team is taking every action it can to battle a new outbreak of a variant, Omicron, Harris frankly admitted that the administration dropped the ball.

In another interview, Harris conceded that the Biden administration didn’t see the emergence of the Delta and Omicron variants coming, but appeared to place the blame on the medical community.

“We didn’t see Delta coming. I think most scientists did not – upon whose advice and direction we have relied – didn’t see Delta coming,” Harris said. “We didn’t see Omicron coming. And that’s the nature of what this awful virus has been, which as it turns out, has mutations and variants.”

And Harris did chide the unvaccinated. “The biggest threat still to the American people is the threat to the unvaccinated. And most people who believe in the efficacy of the vaccine and the seriousness of the virus have been vaccinated. That troubles me deeply,” she said.

There’s still the question as to whether “fully vaccinated” now means two shots and a booster. And Biden last week was confused about how many boosters have been administered.

“Fifty-seven -– excuse me –- five hundred and seventy –- excuse me –- I don’t want to read -– I’m not sure I got the right number. The — the total number of boosters is what?” Biden said, turning to top U.S. immunologist Anthony Fauci.

“Fifty-seven million,” Fauci said.

“Fifty-seven million boosters — one million a day,” Biden said. “So — but the whole point is: Omicron is here, it’s going to start to spread much more rapidly in the beginning of the year, and the only real protection is to get your shots. If you get one shot — if you haven’t gotten it yet — it’ll help.”
