Nobody offered the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee a penny for their thoughts on national gasoline prices, but the DCCC gave their two cents anyway — literally. On Thursday afternoon, the DCCC shared a graph showing that gas prices have dropped nearly two cents over the past two weeks, seemingly in praise of Joe Biden.

“Thanks, @JoeBiden,” the DCCC account tweeted.

The dismal-looking graphic received widespread mockery on Twitter. It reminded some of the White House’s celebration of saving 16 cents on random items for a Fourth of July BBQ.

For readers who forgot about their savings this past summer — and it’s understandable if you didn’t know you saved money on hamburger meat, cheese, pork chops, vanilla ice cream, beans, and lemonade — here is what The Daily Wire reported at the time:

Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration bragged on Tuesday about saving Americans $0.16 (no, that’s not a typo) on the cost of the total amount of food that they’ll consume on the Fourth of July.

The Biden administration tweeted out the cringeworthy boast from the official White House Twitter account along with widely mocked puns. “Planning a cookout this year? Ketchup on the news,” the White House tweeted. “According to the Farm Bureau, the cost of a 4th of July BBQ is down from last year. It’s a fact you must-hear(d). Hot dog, the Biden economic plan is working. And that’s something we can all relish.”

The same can be said for gasoline prices.

The Daily Wire took the liberty of comparing gasoline prices from November 2020 to November 2021. Based on the same data used by the DCCC, gasoline prices have increased from $2.01 in November 2020 to $3.40 in November 2021.

These rising prices are not limited to gasoline, and they are not going to slow down any time soon. On Monday this week, The Daily Wire noted that The Wall Street Journal reported much of America can expect their home heating prices to skyrocket this winter:

Nearly half of U.S. households that warm their homes with mainly natural gas can expect to spend an average of 30% more on their bills compared with last year. The agency added that bills would be 50% higher if the winter is 10% colder than average and 22% higher if the winter is 10% warmer than average.

The forecast rise in costs, according to the report, will result in an average natural-gas home-heating bill of $746 from Oct. 1 to March 31, compared with about $573 during the same period last year.

But hey, for these past two weeks, American’s can rest easy knowing that they saved two cents on a gallon of gasoline. Much of this is thanks to Biden’s decision to halt several major pipelines and other anti-fossil fuel measures. Thanks, Joe Biden indeed.
