Radio host and PragerU cofounder Dennis Prager announced this week that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has received monoclonal antibody treatment.

“I tested positive (for COVID) last week, and I have been steadily improving,” Prager announced Monday on his show, where he broadcasted from his home. “At no point was I in danger of hospitalization.”

The host said he has not been vaccinated, so after testing positive for COVID, he received monoclonal antibody treatment, specifically Regeneron. The conservative noted that he’s also taken other medicine, like Ivermectin, which has been prescribed to some COVID-19 patients, though it’s officially used to treat internal waterborne parasites, and the FDA has warned against using it for COVID-19.

“I have received monoclonal antibodies, that’s Regeneron. I have, of course, for years — a year and a half, not years — been taking hydroxychloroquine from the beginning, with zinc. I’ve taken Z-Pak, azithromycin, as the Zelenko protocol would have it. I have taken ivermectin,” Prager detailed.

Antibody treatment is essentially an infusion of supplemental antibodies that help your body fight off COVID — and fast, according to medical experts.

University of Alabama at Birmingham Professor Turner Overton explained it this way: Your “immune system takes two to three weeks to make good antibodies,” but “monoclonal antibodies are supplemental antibodies that can be administered early in the course of infection — the first 10 days after symptoms commence — to rapidly bind and kill the COVID virus.”

Medical experts suggest that the treatment, which has been authorized for public use, should be given to COVID-positive patients during the first ten days of symptoms.

Health officials have emphasized that vaccination is still the best option for Americans in reducing a patient’s chances of hospitalization and death. “The monoclonal antibodies are not as durable as the vaccine,” Dr. Overton said. “The vaccine trains a healthy immune system to protect from a future infection, and the protection can last much longer.”

Prager noted that he was not afraid to get the virus.

“I have engaged with strangers, constantly hugging them, taking photos with them knowing that I was making myself very susceptible to getting COVID,” the host said. “Which is, indeed, as bizarre as it sounded, what I wanted, in the hope I would achieve natural immunity and be taken care of by therapeutics.”

Johns Hopkins’ Dr. Marty Makary, speaking on The Daily Wire’s “Morning Wire,” said this month that the “data on natural immunity are now overwhelming,” noting that studies have shown natural immunity to be 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity.

“It turns out the hypothesis that our public health leaders had that vaccinated immunity is better and stronger than natural immunity was wrong,” said Makary. “They got it backwards. And now we’ve got data from Israel showing that natural immunity is 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity. And that supports 15 other studies.”
