On Thursday, President Joe Biden mentioned the word “truth” more than 10 times in an address to the nation remembering the January 6, 2021, protest which turned into a riot against the 2020 election. Biden stated that “great nations” do not bury the facts about their history, rather they “face up” to the truth. In response, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) pointed out that Biden’s speech sounded like the commander-in-chief was lecturing us while his first year in office has been riddled with lies touching nearly every aspect of his presidency.

“Joe Biden lied about rescuing Americans from Afghanistan. He lied about his spending plan ‘costing zero dollars.’ He lied about GA’s election law. He lied about inflation, mandates, and his ‘plan’ to stop the virus,” Cotton tweeted. “Now, he’s lecturing us about ‘living by the truth’”?

As The New York Post reported, Biden had said in August that ahead of the withdrawal from Afghanistan, “if there are American citizens left, we’re going to stay until we get them all out” and that  “any American who wants to come home, we will get you home.” But Biden’s team did not get every American home who wanted to leave before the withdrawal finished.

Biden has also repeated the lie that his Build Back Better plan would cost the American people “zero dollars.” Even The Washington Post gave that remark “two Pinocchios.”

The president also claimed that Georgia’s new election law would block early voting and voting after work. Again, this was blatantly false.

As well is documented, the president also promised to “shut down” the virus only to admit “there is no federal solution” while cases soar to record highs. Meanwhile, the president is still pushing numerous vaccine mandates — including one for the private sector about to be challenged before the Supreme Court by The Daily Wire and others — after promising to not enact any mandates for this virus.

And of course, Biden’s has flip-flopped and outright denied reality by first claiming that inflationary prices were “transitory,” only for the cost of just about everything to continue ascending throughout 2021 while claiming it was the strongest economic year ever.

In the speech Thursday, Biden also stated that he “did not seek this fight brought to this Capital”  by the January 6 riot, but that he will not “shrink” and  “will stand in this breach” while defending this nation, before saying he will  “not allow anyone to place a dagger at the throat of democracy.”

But, as pointed out by GOP operative Matt Wolking, on the 2020 campaign trail Biden agreed with the lie on at least on one occasion that Trump was an illegitimate president:

While Biden’s speech has unsurprisingly received praise from mainstream media, as pointed out by Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, it is unclear if anybody outside of D.C. is even paying attention to Biden or the other events regarding January 6 on Thursday.
