The Daily Wire released the official trailer for its upcoming thriller “Shut In” on Thursday, giving viewers their first glimpse at the movie by cult actor-director Vincent Gallo since rolling out the film’s teaser in October.
The thriller is being directed by D.J. Caruso, who previously directed “xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage” and “Disturbia.” Singer Rainey Qualley of “Love In The Time Of Corona” fame stars in the film. Voltage Pictures is handling international sales for the film, according to Deadline, which first reported the trailer’s release.
Bonfire Legend’s Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk are producing the film. Sonnier said that they moved the rights for the movie away from New Line Cinema, a major Hollywood film production studio, specifically for The Daily Wire.
“We specifically took this movie away from New Line Cinema to make it exclusively for The Daily Wire’s members. With their support, we are inspired to produce the best movies while Big Hollywood self-implodes. We are just getting started, and have many more surprises in store, stay tuned!” Sonnier said in a statement to The Daily Wire.

Sonnier gave The Daily Wire a chance at the movie after New Line Cinema failed to move on the project before its option expired. As Deadline reported:
Shut In first came to attention as a touted 2019 Black List script, also topping the BloodList in the same year. The movie was initially set up at New Line with Jason Bateman aboard to direct. After a period of stasis the option expired and Sonnier took it over to The Daily Wire, marking their third collaboration.
Pic is being executive-produced by Daily Wire co-founders Ben Shapiro, Jeremy Boreing, and Caleb Robinson, and will be available in the U.S. exclusively to the site’s members beginning in early 2022, with plans for an international launch thereafter.
The Daily Wire first publicly announced the upcoming thriller during an episode of Backstage filmed live from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
“At the Ryman, The Daily Wire premiered the trailer for its upcoming movie with Gina Carano. The movie, named ‘Terror on the Prairie,’ is expected to come out March or April of 2022. The Daily Wire also premiered the trailer of another upcoming film, a thriller named ‘Shut In,’” The Daily Wire reported.
At the event, The Daily Wire released the film’s official teaser trailer. The Daily Wire also announced its partnership with comedian Adam Carolla on a stand-up series of which the first episode was released last week.
