Conservative radio host Dan Bongino threatened to cut ties with Cumulus Media over its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for employees.

Bongino, who is vaccinated, said during his show on Monday that he believes Cumulus’ mandate is “unethical” and “immoral” and that he is prepared to walk away from the media giant if it does not rescind its mandate. Bongino’s radio show is aired to over 300 stations after taking over Rush Limbaugh’s timeslot after Limbaugh died from cancer in February.

“I’m not really happy with the company I work with right here,” Bongino told his listeners Monday, according to The Washington Post. “I believe these vaccine mandates are unethical. I believe they’re immoral. I believe they don’t take into account the science of natural immunity due to a prior infection. I believe they’re broad-based and don’t take into account an individual circumstances of why they may or may not want to take a vaccine. And they’re antithetical to everything I believe in.”

“So, I’ll say again, I’m not going to let this go,” he continued. “Cumulus is going to have to make a decision with me — if they want to continue this partnership or they don’t. But I’m talking to you on their airwaves. They don’t have to let that happen. And I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t. Because it’s really unfortunate that people with a lower profile than me, who don’t have 300-plus stations, have been summarily either shown the door or been put in really untenable circumstances because they simply want to make a medical decision by themselves.”

A number of radio hosts and other employees have exited Cumulus since the company announced its vaccine mandate in August.

“Have these companies ever thought of that? The countless numbers of moms and dads who are sitting at the kitchen table explaining to their kids how they may have to move out? How daddy doesn’t have a job because a bunch of people in the C-suite thought it would be a good idea to sit around and play pretend Dr. Fauci for a second, and mandate people jam something in their bodies that they don’t want to take?” the host asked.

“I’m not leaving any of those guys behind. You can have me or you can have the [vaccine] mandate. But you can’t have both of us,” Bongino declared.

“I want you to know I’m not letting this go. I’m not even considering letting this go. I’m announcing it publicly so you know I’m not letting it go,” he continued. “I promise you I have no intentions of letting these guys get let go, get harassed, because they made a private and personal medical decision on only one of the biggest issues of our time. There is a very real thing called natural immunity. There is an even realer thing called freedom and liberty.

“This is a constitutional republic. People have the right to make their own medical decisions, and the company has the right to do what it wants, as well. I get that. I’m not naïve to that. But if the company is going to make political decisions – and I believe this was a political decision, I don’t believe this is based in any science, I could argue it all day – then they should at least recognize that the company is earning a lot of money off of people who have the opposite political persuasion,” Bongino said.
