The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a terror alert on Tuesday over potential violence concerns regarding the Supreme Court’s pending abortion ruling, tensions over the surge at the U.S.-Mexico border, and dozens more high-profile events in the past few months.

The alert comes as a ruling is expected this month in an abortion case before the Supreme Court that could overturn Roe v. Wade and return laws related to abortion back to individual states.

“Some domestic violent extremists have expressed grievances related to their perception that the U.S. government is unwilling or unable to secure the U.S.-Mexico border and have called for violence to stem the flow of undocumented migrants to the United States,” the Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin alert read.

“Given a high-profile U.S. Supreme Court case about abortion rights, individuals who advocate both for and against abortion have, on public forums, encouraged violence, including against government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel and facilities, as well as those with opposing ideologies,” it added.

The alert also predicted growing calls of violence by “domestic violent extremists” as the midterm election nears.

“As the United States enters mid-term election season this year, we assess that calls for violence by domestic violent extremists directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers will likely increase,” the alert stated.

Last month, some angry pro-abortion activists announced a “Summer of Rage” following the leak of a draft opinion indicating that the justices are preparing to overturn Roe v. Wade. These abortion advocates kicked off protests with a “Bans off Our Bodies” slogan, with an estimated 20,000 protestors marching to the Supreme Court itself.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, abortion groups nationwide have called for a large-scale backlash to the momentous news, including protesting at the homes of Supreme Court Justices and even in Catholic masses. Around the country, pro-life clinics and centers have reported vandalism, threats, and violence, and a May 13 Department of Homeland Security memo revealed that government officials are investigating threats to the justices, the clerks, places of worship, and abortion clinics.

Pro-life pregnancy centers and organizations across the nation have also reported attacks as abortion supporters have reacted to the news that the monumental Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade may be overturned.

Oregon Right to Life announced last month that its offices in Keizer, Oregon, had been attacked.

“The office was vacant at the time, and no one was harmed,” the statement said. “Fire and police departments responded quickly, minimizing damage to the building. The agencies are actively investigating the incident.”

The group is “shaken up by this attack,” executive director Lois Anderson said.

“We are committed to taking proper precautions to protect the safety of our staff as we move forward,” she added. “We are thankful for the quick action of our first responders committed to maintaining a safe environment to operate in this community.”

Additional attacks on pro-life centers have also been reported in Wisconsin and Maryland.
