“Jeopardy!” contestant Amy Schneider was allegedly robbed at gunpoint earlier this week after making headlines. The contestant, who identifies as transgender, is being dubbed the most successful female to appear on the show as the winning streak continues.

The 42-year-old Oakland resident shared news of the robbery via Twitter. “Hi all! So, first off: I’m fine. But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards, and phone,” Schneider wrote in the tweet. “I then couldn’t really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.”

This news comes as Schneider’s winning streak continues on the popular game show. According to Fox News, the theft took place just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday. “Two people, one with a firearm, approached a victim and demanded their property,” the outlet said.

“The victim complied, and the individuals ran off with the victim’s personal belongings,” the Oakland Police Department told the news outlet.

It’s unclear if this was a targeted attack. Schneider has become a well-known figure as the first trans person to qualify for the show’s “Tournament of Champions.”

And the contestant has reported instances of online bullying, which were met with sarcastic replies via Twitter. Schneider shared on December 31, “I’d like to thank all the people who have taken the time, during this busy holiday season, to reach out and explain to me that, actually, I’m a man. Every single one of you is the first person ever to make that very clever point, which had never once before crossed my mind.”

Since beginning the game, Schneider has become the fourth highest-earning contestant in regular-season play with $897,600. That puts Schneider in fourth place overall.

And the Oakland-based contestant avoided the so-called Monday “Jeopardy!” curse, which host Ken Jennings pointed out at the beginning of Monday’s show.

“Now our returning champion Amy Schneider certainly ended 2021 on a high note, securing her 23rd consecutive win,” Jennings said at the beginning of the episode.

“She is right now the fifth-biggest money winner in ‘Jeopardy!’ history with the fourth-longest winning streak. So that’s all very impressive, but — but could she fall victim to the ‘Jeopardy!’ Monday curse that fell James Holzhauer, Matt Amodio, Julia Collins, so many other great super champs of the past?”

The curse was nothing for Schneider, who won on Monday and got one step closer to entering the champion circle of highest earners on the show.

According to Today, these include Matt Amodio in third place with $1,518,601, James Holzhauer in second with $2,462,216 and Jennings with his $2,520,700 in total earnings.

The highest-earning woman to appear on “Jeopardy!” is Larissa Kelly, who conceded her title to Schneider, a biological male.

“Well, it was fun to hold a Jeopardy record for a few years…but it’s been even more fun to watch @Jeopardamy set new standards for excellence, on the show and off,” Kelly tweeted. “Congratulations to Amy on becoming the woman with the highest overall earnings in the show’s history!”

To that, Schneider responded, “Thanks so much, I’m honored to be in your company, and I look forward to someday watching the woman who beats us both!”
