A GoFundMe account for a Minnesota man who allegedly shot into the apartment of a woman and her two children last week outpaced the money initially raised for the man’s victims.
By Saturday, more than $15,000 was raised for 20-year-old Andrew “Tekle” Sundberg, who was killed on Thursday by police after an hours-long standoff, which included the 20-year-old reportedly shooting at police, too. Sundberg, according to his family, was experiencing a “mental health crisis” when he shot into the apartment of 24-year-old woman Arabella Foss-Yarbrough and her two children. Her GoFundMe page only raised $2,200 on Saturday, outpaced by Sundberg at the time.
“The GoFundMe for shooter Andrew Tekle Sundberg now has over $15K – out raising his victim, a single mother who hid with her two sons in her bedroom as he shot bullets through the walls of her apartment,” independent photojournalist Rebecca Brannon announced on Saturday. “Two Minneapolis police snipers shot Sundberg after a multi-hour standoff.”

“There have been vigils and rallies for Tekle Sundberg since he was killed by police early Thursday morning. Tonight another rally and march was held to ‘commemorate’ his death,” Brannon continued.
“Yarbrough was cooking in her kitchen when bullets started flying through her walls, destroying her apartment,” she said. “Residents were evacuated and officers had to rescue the mother and her children during the active shooter situation.”
Brannon then linked to a tweet from journalist Mary McGuire, showing the damage inside Yarbrough’s apartment.

The photojournalist posted additional photos reportedly of Sundberg, noting that the shooter’s family has retained controversial attorney Ben Crump, along with Jeff Storms. “The BCA says they’re reviewing police body camera video, but the videos have not been released,” she said.

By Sunday afternoon, following Brannon’s viral thread, Yarbrough’s GoFundMe finally started to outpace her alleged attacker’s account.
“After posting this thread late last night, donations came flooding through to help and now double the amount what those were asking for in order to help single mother Yarbrough,” Brannon announced. “Great to see. Glad word spread on this.”

By Monday afternoon, the GoFundMe account for Yarbrough totals more than $50,000.
Yarbrough made waves at a rally for Sundberg on Saturday, The Daily Wire reported Sunday.
“I have black children,” she shouted over a protest leader. “I’m a woman of color. If I would’ve lost my life, would you guys do this for me?”
