No survivors were found after a Learjet crashed Monday night into a neighborhood in the San Diego suburb of El Cajon, California.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. local time, damaging one home and shutting down power in the area, according to local reports. It was uncertain how many people were on board the plane.
Local CBS4 reporter Marcella Lee shared video from the scene as emergency workers sought to put out the fire from the crash.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department shared a statement regarding the incident, noting no survivors were found by first responders.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of those we lost in a plane crash in unincorporated El Cajon. Pepper Drive is closed between Topper Lane and North 2nd St. so the @NTSB can process the site and complete their investigation.

The plane was scheduled to land at Gillespie Field in El Cajon. At this time, we do not have information on where the plane was coming from or how many were on board. Firefighters were not able to find any survivors at the crash scene. In the County of San Diego, the Medical Examiner’s Office is the agency that rules on the manner or cause of deaths, as well as identification of the person/people once the family has been notified.
One home was damaged and power lines were knocked down in the area. No one was hurt on the ground. At this time, San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) crews are on scene working to restore power to nearly 70 customers in the area. The American Red Cross will be providing assistance tomorrow morning, December 28 to residents who remain affected by the power outage.
Up to 2,500 customers were reported without power following the crash, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
Local residents also shared a variety of videos and pictures of the crash and emergency response efforts.
A local doorbell camera claimed to capture footage of the crash from a distance.

Local reporter Malik Earnest also shared audio from air traffic radio. The audio revealed the pilot requesting clearance to land before shouting and then the audio abruptly ending.

No information has yet been released on the cause of the crash or the identities of those on board the plane.
