Arizona’s audit of the 2020 presidential race results in Maricopa County will move on despite challenges from Democrats, and the procedure will have national significance, Arizona Republican Party Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward told Newsmax TV Saturday.

“America’s audit is going forward,” Ward said on Newsmax TV’s “The Count.” “The Democrats lost in state court so now they’re trying their hand with the feds, and now we see the Biden administration and whoever’s running that would like to federalize everything, but we in Arizona believe in the Constitution. We believe in the 10th Amendment. We believe in the rights of our state.”

She also insisted that the audit is “not a Republican audit,” but one for Arizona and the country, and said it will serve as a precedent nationally.

“Arizona is the first domino that will fall and then other states will look into irregularities, abnormalities, mistakes and potentially outright fraud that happened in their states as well,” Ward said. “We want great legislation based on objective information that is provided by this audit, and that is going to happen with the state legislature that we currently have, which is a Republican-controlled House, Senate, and the governor, so we should be able to get some very, very good strong legislation to protect election integrity and restore voter confidence in our state, and we hope we can lead the way for the nation.”

Meanwhile, the Arizona Republican Party is an “America First” party, she said, and “we are leading the way for other states to follow us” when it comes to voting rules.

“Our legislators are very strong,” said Ward. “They’re putting forth home great bills that when they get to the governor’s desk, I’m sure that he’s going to sign into law.”

And those bills will mean that there will be “integrity in our elections so that people can feel confident that when they as a citizen cast a vote, it is counted one time and the names that they fill in on their ballot are the ones that are counted,” said Ward.

The chairwoman added that there was a “lot of funny business that went on on the ground” in Arizona, which Joe Biden won over then-President Donald Trump.

“We saw it firsthand,” she said. “There were tens of thousands of people who came to see president trump and members of his administration. Every single time they came to our great state. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris showed up together and not one person showed up. So I would say there are a lot of abnormalities. That’s why Republicans, independents and even if there are any left, thinking Democrats, I understand that we have to look at the 2020 election. We have to find out what happened so that we can move forward in a very strong way so that voters have confidence in what we’re doing in our processes.”

Meanwhile, Republicans must be standing firm on their platform to stay strong as a party, “on the things that we believe like faith, family, freedom, small government, low taxes, personal responsibility following the United States Constitution,” said Ward. “We need to be strong and the people that we send to elective office (need) to represent us at every single level of government. Need to be standing strong and voicing those things that we the people, not we, the government we the people sent them there to do for us on our behalf.”
