Rachel Levine, who lead one of the worst COVID-19 pandemic responses in the U.S., was sworn in as a four-star admiral to the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps on Tuesday.
With the new position, Levine will join 6,000 other corps members offering COVID-19 shots and other health-focused initiatives on behalf of the federal government.
Levine, a man who claims he is a woman, first gained attention from the corporate media when he was confirmed by the Senate to help head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Now, the assistant secretary has caught the attention of leftist agenda-setters who are praising Levine for receiving a new and “historic” title.
The Washington Post touted Levine as the “organization’s first-ever female four-star admiral” and boosted the Biden official’s claim that he is a “strong proponent of diversity, equity and inclusion,” but the health official’s track record is nothing to brag about.
Radical abortionist and HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra also praised Levine’s appointment as “historic” and “a giant step forward toward equality as a nation.”
During Levine’s time as secretary of health in Pennsylvania, the health official, much like disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, failed to address massive COVID-19 outbreaks in nursing homes and assisted care facilities across the states. Instead of offering Pennsylvania residents solutions for their vulnerable loved ones, Levine removed his own mother from a personal care home while many others still did not have access to their family members inside similar facilities.
Meanwhile, Levine proudly enacted tyrannical lockdowns that weren’t based on science and botched the state’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
As Jonathan Tobin noted for The Federalist in March, “Levine was also guilty of several blunders committed by other blue state governments — most notably New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo — when Pennsylvania’s nursing homes were required to take recovering coronavirus patients back into their institutions. As late as June of last year, Levine defended the decision in much the same manner that Cuomo did, by trying to fob off responsibility to the Centers for Disease Control in Washington.”
Levine also received criticism after telling the press last year that people in Pennsylvania would likely have to wear masks through 2021, even after the vaccine rollout.
“We anticipate we’re going to be rolling this out through the winter and then into the spring and into the summer,” Levine told Penn Live. “It could take a significant amount of time to immunize everyone in Pennsylvania. I anticipate we’re going to be wearing masks well into 2021, maybe to the end of 2021.”
