Teasing another run at the White House for former President Donald Trump, middle son Eric Trump on Newsmax TV said you have not seen the last of the family.
“We would do it in a second again, because what my father did was so transformational,” Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization, told Monday’s “Greg Kelly Reports.” “The backbone he has, the spine he has, the fight, the conviction, there’s never been anyone like him in American politics, and there probably will never be one like him again.
“There’s a good chance we will be on the stage again fighting it out. I don’t think you’ve seen the last of this family.”
Donald Trump Sr. dismissed talk of starting a third party, because the GOP is the Trump party now.
“My father’s message has really become the Republican message,” Eric Trump told host Greg Kelly. “He’s taught the Republican Party a lot; he’s taught them about fighting.
“Why abandon the Republican Party when you’ve got the support that my father has. In fact, my father took the Republican Party which has always kind of known as this little more high-brow party. The Republican Party is now the party of the working man and woman in this country.”
The GOP is going to align with former President Trump’s agenda and cast off the detractors in the party along with Democrats, Eric Trump added.
“My father’s completely transformed the party into something the Republican Party had never been before,” he continued. “My father will not abandon the Republican Party, but I have a feeling the Republican Party is going to abandon a lot of people, a lot of these Senate men and woman who have turned their back on the people that ultimately put them in power.”
Asked about his father’s final emotional goodbye after leaving office, Eric Trump called it an “emotional end to a beautiful journey.”
“We did it for the right reasons,” he said. “Most of them do it for the wrong reasons. We did it as a family for the right reasons.”
