Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi echoed the White House’s lie that President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better Agenda” costs virtually nothing.
“It’s not about a dollar amount,” she told reporters on Wednesday. “The dollar amount, as the president said, is zero. This bill will be paid for.”

For days, the Biden administration has paraded its massive spending bill as a “zero dollar” bill.
“My Build Back Better Agenda costs zero dollars. Instead of wasting money on tax breaks, loopholes, and tax evasion for big corporations and the wealthy, we can make a once-in-a-generation investment in working America. And it adds zero dollars to the national debt,” Biden tweeted last week.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki repeated a similar claim in the press briefing room on Monday.
“The reconciliation package will cost zero dollars,” she told reporters.
Psaki: “The reconciliation package will cost zero dollars.” Can someone, anyone challenge the administration on this?

The corporate media latched onto the Biden administration’s narrative but, in reality, the pricey legislation is set to cost American taxpayers trillions. According to The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, true costs for the legislation over a 10 year period total closer to $5 trillion or $5.5 trillion, which far overshadows the Democrats’ original proposed $3.5 trillion dollar plan.
The plan has sparked infighting among congressional Democrats. While Republicans and swing voters have already expressed skepticism over enormous costs associated with the legislation, progressives in the House are threatening to dash any chances of turning the infrastructure bill into law. A $1 trillion infrastructure bill already squeaked through the Senate but the progressives say unless the “Build Back Better” plan, which fulfills many outrageous agenda points for leftists, is also brought for a vote, they refuse to act further.
Psaki said the administration “welcomes” ideas from these unsatiable progressives but reiterated the White House’s support for Pelosi’s attempts to pass any parts of the legislative package.
“While we appreciate the congresswoman’s ideas, the leader and the Speaker of the House … probably has the best sense of how to get these things done,” Psaki told reporters on Wednesday.
