You’re more than likely working your day job — it is a Thursday after all — longing for home in front of your television watching the madness of the NCAA Tournament unfold.

I truly understand. And while there is little I can do to help alleviate the pain, the least I can do is keep you updated on the day-one happenings of March Madness.

I wish I could provide you with a recap of every single game, but with 16 games per day for the next four days, I think you can understand how impossible of a task this would be. So, as you’re sitting at work, waiting on the clock to hit 5:00 p.m. so that you can rush home and catch the late games, stay here with me as I provide you with the results of the NCAA Tournament day one.

No. 11 Michigan 75 No. 6 Colorado State 63

Colorado State entered halftime with a seven-point advantage, but 21 points by Michigan center Hunter Dickinson advances the Wolverines to a Saturday matchup against either Tennessee or Longwood.

No. 4 Providence 66 No. 13 South Dakota State 57

The Jackrabbits had a chance to gain possession down three with just under 0:30 seconds to play, but Jared Bynum of the Friars was fouled on a three-point attempt, knocking down all three free-throws to seal the win. Providence advances to play either Richmond or Iowa.

No. 9 Memphis 64 No. 8 Boise State 53

After getting down 38-19 at halftime, Boise State clawed their way back into the game in the second half behind 20 second half points from forward Abu Kigab. The Broncos cut it to within five points with under two minutes to play, but ran out of steam. Memphis moves on to play the winner of Gonzaga/Georgia State.
