Leon Draisaitl scored twice in a three-point game and Zack Kassian netted a third-period game-winner to give the Edmonton Oilers a 5-3 victory over the slumping Vegas Golden Knights on Friday in Las Vegas.

Zach Hyman scored twice and goaltender Mikko Koskinen made 36 saves for the Oilers, who have won their first five games of the season.

Edmonton captain Connor McDavid collected a pair of assists to become just the 12th player in NHL history to start the season with five multi-point games.

Nicolas Roy, Nolan Patrick and Nicolas Hague replied for the Golden Knights, who have lost three straight games and sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division. Goalie Robin Lehner stopped 28 shots.

Bruins 4, Sabres 1

Charlie Coyle recorded a goal with two assists and Linus Ullmark stopped 35 shots against his former team as visiting Boston topped previously undefeated Buffalo.

Another ex-Sabre, Taylor Hall, added an empty-netter and an assist, while Tomas Nosek and David Pastrnak also scored and Brad Marchand had two assists for Boston. The Bruins have won three straight against the Sabres and 13 of the past 14 in the series.

Victor Olofsson scored with 5:25 left in regulation, and Craig Anderson made 22 saves for the Sabres.

Sharks 5, Maple Leafs 3

Logan Couture had two goals and an assist, Timo Meier added a goal and an assist and the San Jose won its third straight road game, defeating Toronto.

Erik Karlsson and Jonathan Dahlen also scored for the Sharks, who have won their first four games of the season. Adin Hill stopped 30 shots for San Jose.

Jason Spezza, Ondrej Kase and John Tavares scored for the Maple Leafs, who have lost two in a row. Michael Hutchinson made 26 saves for Toronto.

Stars 3, Kings 2 (SO)

Dallas took advantage of a short-handed Los Angeles Kings, getting an overtime goal from Denis Gurianov to win its home opener.

Miro Heiskanen scored the game-tying goal in the third period, while the Stars also got a first-period goal from Tyler Seguin. Braden Holtby stopped 43 shots for the win.

The Kings, who lost star defenseman Drew Doughty to injury in the second period, got goals from Anze Kopitar and Gabriel Vilardi. Jonathan Quick made 20 saves.
